Cheer for the Underdog

Georgia is heading to the NCAA tournament. For those of you that don't understand why this is such a big thing picture this...The Bulldogs finish the season with 17 wins and 16 loses, so just barely over a .500 winning percentage. The NCAA is a tournament at then end of the season to come up with the National Champions, it is suppose to be the best 65 teams in the country that get to play in the tournament and that is it. Well there are two ways to get a bid into the tournament, first off is to be good, the best teams in the country never have to doubt if they are going to make the tournament or not. The second and more difficult way is to when your conference tournament at the end of the regular season and before the NCAA. Each conference has a tournament that is about four days and then crowns a champion. After going 4-12 in conference play, Georgia entered in the SEC conference tournament as a six seed, which I believe is at the bottom of the bracket or the next to the bottom, like I said, Georgia did not have the best of years this year. Surprisingly Georgia won its first game but that is when everything go crazy. The second game was suppose to be Friday night, but a tornado came through downtown Atlanta and the game was postponed until Saturday. This meant that the winner of Georgia and Kentucky would have to play a second game that evening to decide who would play in the final. So after enduring a tornado, a change of venue and a doubleheader, the gritty Bulldogs provided one last surprise in the finale of an improbable Southeastern Conference tournament, building a big lead in the first half and holding on for a 66-57 victory over Arkansas to claim their first NCAA bid since 2002. So the Bulldogs played three games in two days, but they are going dancing...I just can't help it, I've got to cheer for the Underdawgs.
