Life at Belk
I have been home for the last few weeks...well kind of. While I was at school this summer my parents moved across town. They had lived in that house for 30 years so nobody ever imagined them actually moving. But they did and in the long run I'm glad I wasn't there, but it was a good move. Our new house is much smaller, but it is nice. I already think of it as home. Whenever I come home for a few weeks it seems like I work at Belk. Now I can't complain because it is nice to have a job that will hire you for three weeks then let you go without caring. It seeems like they enjoy having me around for the few weeks. Every time I go to work though it reminds me why I went to college. If I didn't go to college I would be stuck working at a job like retail for the rest of my life and I don't think I could handle that. This is one reason why my dad encouraged us all to go to college because he knows how rough life can be working in retail. This time I have been working in Today's Woman, which is the department for plus sized women. It is not the department that I would like to work at but so far it hasn't been too bad. Tonight I have to close so it is nice to get to sleep in, but it sucks to have to spend all afternood and evening at work. But it is money in the bank and that is what I really need right now.
