Duches Elkins of Rhubarb

Last week I was teaching my class about Exploration, discovering the new world. Well, I had to stretch the unit out three extra days because I forgot to warn them about an upcoming test. Anyways my made my students do a worksheet on the Dutch Empire, which has an important guy name William of Orange. Well on of my students thought that was the coolest name ever, he liked that he was "of Orange." Today he asked of William of Orange was going to be one the test, when I told him no, he got a little sad, but then started to come up with new names for other students in the class. Some of the names include:

Sir Trevor of Strawberry
Duchess Maizy of Kiwi
Lady McCall of Blueberry
Knight Chris of Banana
Duchess Danica of Pineapple
Sir Logan of Watermelon
Lady Xyra of Mango

He really couldn't come up with a good fruit for me, so that is how I became Duchess Elkins of Rhubarb. This is my fourth period class, now they want to challenge my first period to a war, but since they are fruits, first period is now vegetables. I even had to deliver a trash talking note saying that they will "Beet and Squash" fourth period. Too bad I don't teach health, because who knew that 10th graders would talk about fruits and vegetables this much.
