Taylorsville vs. Maple Mountain
Well the 2009 soccer season has officially started, yesterday we played Maple Mountain High School down in Spanish Fork. Maple Mountain High is a brand new high school opening up this year and I was very impressed with there team. The varsity lost to Maple Mountain 3-2 and JV lost 3-0, but the story was the wind. The wind is always stronger down in Spanish Fork than it is up in Taylorsville, but we had wind gusts up in the 40-50 mph range. It is really hard to play a game outside in wind like that. In fact the wind picked up a tent we had and blow it up and over a fence. Sadly in the process of blowing away one of our girls was hit in the head. She had a small cut, but head wounds bleed a lot. Eventually we had to wrap stuff around her head to keep a bandage on, she looked funny, but it worked. I wish we could have started the year off with a win, but I think it was growing experience for us. We have our second game this afternoon vs. Hunter High School. Wish us luck....
