Today is our first soccer game of the season, I was fairly excited about it until we checked the grades of the few players that had not shown us there grades. Then all of a sudden, the stress came in and we didn't have a clue on how to be even some what competitive. A freshman starting player had a GPA of 1.83, you have to have a 2.0 to play high school sports. Because these are fourth quarter grades from last school year we can't exactly go to the teacher and beg. I spent two and a half hours after practice yesterday trying to figure out what to do. The players mom told use that she had taken summer school to bring her grade up, but nobody could find any record of the grade change. Finally the mom found something and faxed it to the school. It was a mess, but good news is that the girl should be cleared to play. I have never had to deal with players not be eligible before, so it was a big mess.
