On Sept. 6-7 our stake had Stake Conference. I'll be honest most of the time I don't exactly look forward to Stake Conference, especially since the last was mostly about raising children. They were good talks but didn't exactly apply to me. They were reorganizing my stake presidency and announced that Elder Nelson was going to come to Stake Conference, and I was actually excited to go. I even went to the adult session. First off I think Wendy Nelson, Elder Nelson's wife, is my new hero. She was one of those older single sisters before marrying Elder Nelson, but she is just really cool. I won't go into detail, but she is defiantly an amazing women. One thing Elder Nelson said that I really liked was "Laugh at yourself when things aren't going so well." We don't have to take our self so seriously all the time. Sometimes you just need a good laugh. Elder Nelson ended with giving the stake an Apostolic blessing. After conference was over I wanted to shake Elder Nelson's hand. So I got some other girls in my ward to get in line with me and we met everyone. Once I got up to Elder Nelson I wanted to give him a hug, I don't know why I just did. So I asked him and I got to hug an Apostle. I thought it was pretty cool.
